SBPT15 - All Good Things Must Come To An End

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz, and it's a fun tour where book bloggers collaborate with other book bloggers, become besties, and introduce one another on each of our blogs. The added benefit is if you've gotten bored of me, you get to meet some awesome people you may not have been introduced to before!

This week you're meeting:

Or should I saw re-meeting...everyone!

It seems not too long ago that we started this Sunday special called the Summer Blogger Promo Tour, and finally, we've come to the very last stop of the tour. When I first started, I thought it'd be uncomfortable talking to new bloggers and coming up ways to introduce ourselves on other blogs. However, it soon became apparent that book bloggers are just such nice people in general and what might have been a chore ended up being surprisingly fun! Sure, sometimes I almost forgot to write up my post and ended up with fingers rapidly flying across the keyboard a few hours after midnight on the day of the tour stop, but hey, we've all been there. I gained so much from this tour (though clearly not anti-procrastination), and by that I mean I got so many new blogger friends! Without a doubt my favorite part of the tour has been all the new people I've met and been able to present to you all - one of the best parts of being a book blogger is meeting new people, and the SBPT was a great opportunity. Bloggers, I highly recommend you participate in it next year if you haven't already: it's a wonderful experience.

For anyone who missed any of the tour stops or would like to go back to some of the posts, below is a summary of the tour schedule plus links to each individual blogger's post!

If you've missed any of the above bloggers while the tour was running, I highly encourage you to go check them out since these bloggers are so much fun! I hope some of you have reached out to them and/or said hi; I'm sure they'd be glad to hear from you! Unfortunately, it's the last full week of summer, so the SBPT is saying goodbye, as is my happiness/laziness :(

So what did you guys think of SBPT15? Did it introduce you to some great new bloggers? Would you like to see it again next summer? Are you interested in taking part? Let me know!

SBPT15 Stop #8 - Giselle from Book Nerd Canada

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz, and it's a fun tour where book bloggers collaborate with other book bloggers, become besties, and introduce one another on each of our blogs. The added benefit is if you've gotten bored of me, you get to meet some awesome people you may not have been introduced to before!

This week you're meeting:

Giselle from Book Nerd Canada

I started off this tour with a bang by hosting the very hosts themselves, and I get to finish it off with a bang as well! I'm sure many of you have heard of Giselle from Book Nerd Canada, and I have the immense pleasure of welcoming and introducing her to the blog today. Her blog has been one of my favorites since even before I started Time Turning Reads, which makes it today even more exciting :D I asked Giselle what her story would look like if she were a book character. It's a difficult question to be sure, but she gladly rose up to the challenge with this:

My story would be a fantasy read for sure. I would be the main character who would probably be a woman who is trying to find truth in her life and end up saving her entire world. My character would possibly be passive, but at the same time she'd be ambitious and independent by the end of the story. I would love her to go through a huge character arc. Secondary characters would include her best friends, and quite possibly a talking animal because I would love to have a sidekick character who was a dog that talks and understands me. The love interest would be someone my main character disliked at first, but would end up loving him by the end. Under life threatening situations, my main character and love interest would fall in love and try to overcome the villain. Combine that with every kind of fantastical creature..dragons and trolls, and different races, the world would definitely be a magical place. The villain would be this tyrant who thinks he's doing the right thing, but in reality he's not. It would also include so many plot twists and turns that would make your head spin. I wouldn't be able to title my book, but I know it would only be a stand-a-lone.

Now that's one story I'd be glad to read. Thank you so much Giselle for sharing! If you'd like to get in touch with her and get to know more about her, visit or contact her at her:

The last day of the tour is next weekend, so I'll be doing a little recap/what I learned thing, plus provide links to all other posts from this tour. I hope to see you there!

SBPT15 Stop #7 - Kaitlin from Next Page Please!

Kaitlin from Next Page Please!

Yep that's right, this is actually the second Kaitlin I get to feature on my blog! The first time it was Kaitlin from Reading is My Treasure and we discussed cliffhangers, and this time it's she of the same name from Next Page Please! I don't know if it's just me but I just find that really fun. Anyways, this Kaitlin obviously has a whole different personality, and to help you get to know her, I asked her two questions. First up, I made her make this one really hard decision where she had to pick one favorite book out of the many she's already read. I know, I'm evil. And then of course I had to make that harder, so I asked her why. After, I asked her who her dream cast would be if that book were to be made into a movie, and now you get to see her answers! (This is our subtle way of book pushing.)

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the Summer Blogger Promo Tour. My name is Kaitlin and I blog over at Next Page Please! Today I am going to be telling you guys about my favorite book and cast them! This should be fun, since I am really bad with casting people. Bear with me if I limit myself to the Arrow and the Flash (My current show obsessions) cast, haha. Now, let's get to the book and cast.

I have a lot of books that are my favorites. Let's Get Lost, Since You've Been Gone, Harry Potter, the list goes on! One of the recent favorites would have to be The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler. I love how the main character is mute and in the beginning of the book she is angry, sad, and so vulnerable because of her loss of voice. That is one thing I really loved about this book. The character development is such  a great thing in this book and Sarah did a great job. The other characters were also so great to read from and really contributed to the story. I also really loved the plot because it already sounded like a fun, exciting, and filled with emotions. The ending is one of my favorite aspects of this book. It showed how far Elyse had gone in her journey post-accident and it was just a really beautiful ending to a beautiful book.

Nooww for the hard part, casting! Haha it's been awhile since I've read this book so I will try my very very best to get the casting as close as possible. Let's get to it!

Elyse- Barbara Palvin

Christian- Chace Crawford (A little old, but that's okay)

Sebastian- *blinks* I couldn't come up with anyone

Vanessa- Willa Holland

Kirby- Skyler Samuels

Noah- Robbie Amell (Because I really couldn't think of anyone else haha)

Hope you guys enjoyed the post! Make sure you check out The Summer of Chasing Mermaids because it is an awesome book. (And if my casting can get you to read the book, that is good enough for me. ;))

I admit, I haven't read The Summer of Chasing Mermaids yet, but it's on my TBR and I'll get to it. Eventually :P If you'd like to learn more about Kaitlin and discuss her dream cast, this book, or whatever else you can dream of, then feel free to use the links below to get into touch with her.

Next week is the second to last SBPT stop, but the last one where I'll get to introduce you guys to a blogger. Out last guest is Giselle from Book Nerd Canada, and she'll be sharing her life story, literarily (that'll make sense next Sunday).

SBPT15 Stop #6 - Jaclyn from Living In A World Of Book Quotes

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz, and it's a fun tour where book bloggers collaborate with other book bloggers, become besties, and introduce one another on each of our blogs. The added benefit is if you've gotten bored of me, you get to meet some awesome people you may not have been introduced to before!

This week you're meeting:

Jaclyn from Living In A World Of Book Quotes

Jaclyn is another very cool book blogger I met through the summer blogger promo tour program. Everyone loves quotes to a certain extent, but I can guarantee that Jaclyn loves them more, because she runs an entire blog dedicated not only to books, but their quotes. Not only does she write book reviews, but she shares her favorite quotes from those books which makes her blog a bit unique. And then of course there are her interesting post topics and awesome voice, but you probably already guessed that ;)

Now that I've gotten to know her a little, what intrigues me most about her is still her love of quotes. I've always wished I was one of those people who could quote things from books and movies, but my memory simply isn't that good. Since Jaclyn's on the blog today, I figured I'd take the opportunity to ask her about her quote love. Curious, I asked her when she first realized she wanted to start sharing her favorite quotes with other people, and then what her all-time favorite book quotes are and why they appeal to her. She answered.

Thanks for asking this! It actually all started with my love for music. Ever since I began listening/getting really into music, I always pick songs that bring about some type of feeling or lyrics that I can relate to. Before I started my blog, I would take pictures of quotes that I fell in love with in a book. Then from there, I decided to review books but continue to share my favorite quotes. I feel as though I didn't NEED to explain why I liked these quotes. The quote in and of itself is enough because they evoke some emotional response. I feel as though quotes are important because there are so many unique and beautiful ways to say something. Somehow my love of quotes has, in a way, helped me to become a better book blogger because there's a deeper understanding of the book I am reading.

-

Here are my favorite book quotes:

1. "We all follow different paths," she enlightened him. "Sometimes they cross, and those points of intersection create moments. Each moment is a part of a bigger picture." - Ninety Degrees by Megan Duke

I think that this quote is interesting because we can meet and come across so many people throughout our lifetime and we may not realize their impact on our lives. We should always appreciate the small moments in our life because these small moments make up our entire life.

2. “The amount of emotions one can feel and the variety of thoughts one can imagine are endless.” - Small Circles by Megan Duke

It is very hard to explain why I like this quote. I think that sometimes we may not realize what we are capable of feeling or how deep our feelings may go. There are so many things that can impact how we feel, both negatively and positively.

3. “The silence between us was never awkward; neither of us felt the need to fill the nonverbal space with mindless chatter. Instead, it was comfortable, even enjoyable.” Exiled: Kenly’s Story by Sophie Davis

I for one, have NEVER been a fan of small talk. I personally think that if you have something meaningful to say, cool, talk away. But I have never understood the need to just talk and talk just for the sake of talking and filling the silence. I think that its okay to not have to talk allllll the time. If you don't talk, you start to observe and listen to your surroundings more. Of course having conversations are important, but times of tranquility and silence are just as important.

4. "My eyes might be closed, but in my heart they are wide open staring splendor and happiness square in the face." - Without Me by Megan Duke

I absolutely looveeee this quote. This quote shows how deeply the character feels for the other person. It takes more than just seeing someone in your life. Its more than that.

5. "I feel like, like, how matter is defined by the things that matter to you. You matter as much as the things that matter to you do. And I got it backwards, trying to make myself matter to him. All this time, there were real things to care about: real, good people who care about me, and this place. It's so easy to get stuck. You just get caught in being something, being special or cool or whatever, to the point where you don't even know why you need it: you just think you do." - An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

I like this quote because we think that material things are what is important in our life, however, it is the people that we meet, or rather the good people that we meet are what matters and makes life important and meaningful.

6. “Need is never a good basis for any relationship. It has to be much more than that.” - Will Grayson, Will Grayson by David Levithan

I find it interesting to distinguish the want to be in a relationship or the need to be in a relationship. The need in a relationship is when you can't survive without the other person, whereas, wanting someone in your life means that you'll be okay without the other person but you would rather have them be in your life. I have actually said this to someone. I told them I don't need you in my life, but I want you in my life. This can be said for someone you're in a relationship with or even a friendship with. I may feel this way based on personal experience and it may change, but I think people should realize you will be okay if that other person is not with you.

If you'd like to get to know more about Jaclyn and her love of quotes, you can reach her through the following:

The third to last stop takes place here at Time Turning Reads, next Sunday at ten. Our featured blogger will be sharing her favorite book, plus her dream cast for it. Exciting, right?

SBPT15 Stop #5 - Ana from Ana Loves...

Ana from Ana Loves...

So today's stop is actually one of my favorites, not least because we're going to be talking about book boyfriends - well, one book boyfriend in particular. That's not even the best part though. The coolest thing about this discussion on book boyfriends is that you guys get to meet Ana! Yes, she's amazing, but in her heart, she's just as fangirl-y as the rest of us. I asked her to pick a single book boyfriend (I don't even know how she did it) and then share what seven questions she'd ask him if she ever got to meet him. Her answers are the best, you guys; she's just so relatable.

I've kept you guys waiting long enough. Here's Anna with an introduction and her response to my question for her.

Hello everyone! My name is Ana and I’m so excited to be on Preethi’s blog today! I actually turned 18 yesterday and even though I used my birthday wish for him, my book boyfriend did not appear in front of me with flowers and dark chocolate.

A little fun fact before I tell everyone who this special man is- once upon a time I didn’t understand why everyone was obsessed with ‘book boyfriends’. I literally thought that only super crazed fan girls had book boyfriends, but then I met him, the most perfect boy ever. Daemon (or as I like to call him, ‘Bae’mon) Black is the definition of a perfect man, he’s funny, protective, and super attractive! I fell in love and he still remains my number one book boyfriend.

So let’s revisit yesterday but change it up a bit, I’m blowing out the candles wishing that the fictional character I fell in love with would appear in front of me in flesh and bone. I look up and there he is! My wish ACTUALLY came true! Daemon is standing in front of me looking gorgeous, arms extended. My first question will be:

1. Will you marry me?! (Cause let’s be real, we’re perfect for each other and I’m legal now)
Of course I won’t give him time to answer and I’ll run into is arms and throw questions at him like rapid fire.
2. Are you real?
3. Where is my chocolate and flowers? It’s my birthday!
4. Wait am I dreaming? Please don’t let me be dreaming.
5. Let’s elope! Where do you want to go to on our honeymoon?
6. Which came first the chicken or the egg?
7. Can I have your cookie?

*Sigh* I guess I’ve become a crazy fangirl! Thank you so much Preethi for having me on your blog, I had a blast coming up with this post!

Thank you so much Anna for stopping by the blog; it was great having you!

If you'd like to connect with Ana, feel free to use the links below and introduce yourself!

I hope you had as much fun reading this post as I did. Our next stop will feature a certain blogger obsessed with all things book quotes, so stay tuned!

SBPT15 Stop #4 - Kaitlin from Reading Is My Treasure

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz, and it's a fun tour where book bloggers collaborate with other book bloggers, become besties, and introduce one another on each of our blogs. The added benefit is if you've gotten bored of me, you get to meet some awesome people you may not have been introduced to before!

This week you're meeting:

Kaitlin from Reading Is My Treasure

I'm guessing that many of you have stumbled upon Kaitlin's blog from time to time, or maybe you even follow it avidly. If you're the former, worry not, I'll get you introduced to her in just a jiffy. If you're the latter, welcome to the blog. I'm really bad at commenting and keeping up with all the wonderful blogs out there in the blogosphere, but Kaitlin's is one of my favorites: I adore her reviews, her unique posts, and her blog design! I love reading her tweets and she's a super nice person. It doesn't get better than that ;)

I took advantage of the fact that she was on my tour schedule and asked her if she would share with us what she thinks of as the three most painful cliffhangers she has come across over the years, along with the GIFs that accurately portray her reaction to each cliffhanger. Eager to find out which cliffhangers were most agonizing? So am I!

The Cliffhangers That Have Killed Me The Most

Before I dive in, I want to say thank you to Preethi for hosting me on her blog for the SBPT Tour! I had fun finding gifs for this post.

1. The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows

When Preethi sent me my topic, I immediately thought of The Orphan Queen. I mean, there's an entire support group for this book (#OQSupportGroup). Whenever I someone tells me that they're starting this one, I say "good luck with the feels." The feels from this cliffhanger are BAD. The ending lingered with me and when I got onto my computer to tweet about it, I ended up looking at the screen with a blank, wide eyed stare. I refused to believe what happened really happened, but at the same time, I came up with all these reasons for what happened to be true.

My reaction to this ending:

-

2. Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

The ending to this one may not be as cliffhanger-y as the books after it, but it was the most emotionally damaging. If you've read it, you know what I mean. Certain things that happened near the end were horrible, then the book was over, leaving me hanging and needing the sequel. (When I first read this, the fourth book wasn't out. It was devastating.)

My reaction to this ending:

-

3. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

The ending of Crown of Midnight left me needing to get my hands on Heir of Fire! A HUGE twist was revealed at the very end. That along with certain upsetting circumstances made this cliffhanger painful. I needed more and I had to wait!! D:

My reaction to this ending:

Have you read any of these books? Did I pick fitting gifs for these cliffhanger endings?

I don't know about you guys, but those three endings shocked the very socks off of my feet and had me begging for more! This is especially true in the last two books Kaitlin picked, though luckily for me I had the next book after Shadow Kiss at the ready (this is the benefit of reading a series after it's finished). I actually just finished the comic version of Shadow Kiss not too long ago, and that ending still shocked the heck out of me.

My point is, KAITLIN, YOU PICKED AMAZING CLIFFHANGERS. I hope that helped you guys get to know a bit more about the wonderful blogger! If you'd like to chat with her, here are her links:

On stop #5 of SBPT15 we'll be meeting the mind behind Ana Loves..., and this time the chat will be all about book boyfriends. See you next week!

SBPT15 Stop #3 - Jessica from Crossroad Reviews

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz, and it's a fun tour where book bloggers collaborate with other book bloggers, become besties, and introduce one another on each of our blogs. The added benefit is if you've gotten bored of me, you get to meet some awesome people you may not have been introduced to before!

This week you're meeting:

Jessica from Crossroad Reviews

Jessica is one of those bloggers I met through SBPT15, and I hadn't known her before then. For the past two weeks, I've introduced you to new and old bloggers by letting them share information about their blogs, their goals for their blogs, their favorite reads, etc. Well, this time I'm going to try something a bit different. Instead of having Jessica share bookish deets about herself, I asked her if she would like to share her top ten favorite television shows and why she enjoys watching them. I find that you can tell a lot about a person by the shows she watches, and it's also nice learning about what bloggers do when they're not blogging. Another plus to this is that I got some new TV show recommendations, which is great because all my favorite shows are on hiatus and I'm really struggling here.

But enough with the rambling. Without further ado, I'll let Jessica share her list now.

1. Supernatural is always going to be at the top of my list.  Why do I love this show…..Well its amazing!!!  Fast paced, creepy creatures.  At first it was prob a great substitute for Buffy and all those other shows that were canceled a while back ago.  Now its just cool.  Im hoping this this coming season isn’t the last one.

2. Outlander this one was new for me this year.  And I was very lucky to be able to know someone with starz.  Cause Im poor and wouldn’t have been able to watch it hahaha.  This one I have not read the books but I have them.  And why do I like watching it.  Well Jamie for one thing, Claire for another, and well HELLO TIME TRAVEL!!!!!!  Need I say more?  Ya I didnt think so.

3. Shadowhunters ok so this one isn’t event out until next year but I know its going to make the top three.  So I just had to add it.  So unless they butcher it more than the movie did.  I know its going to be great.  (Deep breath hoping ) So why do I want to watch this one?  Well the city of bones org. 3 books were my die hard fave.  So much I have the tattoos on my right arm to prove it.  Yup I’m toting me some Shadowhunter tats!!!

4/5. Castle and Rizzoli and Isles because its awesome/funny

6. Whispers - this one just started and I’m like a die hard fan of.  Creepy imaginary friend thats an alien or something ya who wouldn’t want to watch that.  Kinda is a replacement for Fallen Skies since its been canceled.

7. Zoo this one isn’t starting until June 30th (I’m writing this on June 28th)  I picked up the book for this as soon as I saw the preview and OMG it looks so good.

8. Anything to do with SHIELD! I am a die hard Avengers Movie addict.  So any of the TV shows that deal with it I will be watching!!!  Now I just watch the movies.  I don’t have like a secret fan collection.

9/10. The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Ok so these I have been watching since it started.  And well I never read the books with these.  But thats fine I love the tv show more.

Well as you can see I’m all about the paranormal. hahaha.  Mostly.

Thank you so much Jessica for sharing your favorite TV shows! I watch/will watch at least five or six of the shows on this list, so clearly Jessica has great taste :P This obviously means her blog must be pretty awesome as well (it is!), and if you'd like to check it out, click here. And don't be afraid to chat her up on social media or through Crossroad Reviews - she's a great person to know.

The next stop will be up on the blog...wait for it...next Sunday. This time we'll be discussing cliffhangers and a certain blogger's reactions to them aka F U N.

Time Turning Reads Turns One! + Giveaway

Aaaah I finally made it to my first ever blogoversary! Some of you know that I've been blogging since I started high school, and I've had five blogs since then. Maybe some of you have followed me over from Keeper's Book Reviews and/or Swimming Through Thoughts, and if so, I'm glad to see you guys again! Not once have I made it to a blogoversary before, so this is a very special day for me :D I guess the real question is: what made this year's experience so difference that I didn't run away to start a new blog again? Well, that was a combination of several things.

1. You guys! I've met so many more people this year than I ever had before. I started commenting on more blogs and commenting back more frequently on mine, and I've formed so many new relationships while also strengthening older ones. This was also my first year on social media, and this - especially Twitter - is the best way I've found to talk to other bookish people. This way I get to talk to everyone even if I'm on a hiatus or am simply too lazy to go blog hopping.

2. Learning to love my blog design. The main reason I used to switch blogs every now and then was because I was never accepting of my blog design. I would switch back and forth from Blogger and Wordpress because sometimes I felt my design was boring or not good enough, and other times I craved a professional design that only Wordpress blogs seemed to have. This year though, through several hiatuses (as you probably noticed) and other such mental struggles, I convinced myself that I was okay with this design, and if I was that desperate I could pay for a professional, custom design when I'm older. For now though, I'm proud of this design; after all, what could feel better than knowing you created everything on your site?

3. Taking it slow with ARC's. One of my biggest problems time and time again was that I went crazy when requesting ARC's. I got better with it every year, but every time I looked at my review pile I'd feel this huge weight on my shoulders. My mistake was that I requested popular books and books that sounded vaguely interesting instead of only the books that I knew I would reach for with eagerly grasping fingers. I've gotten so much better this year, which is why nowadays I have less early reviews on the blog. Of course, in the same way, you know that if I'm reviewing an ARC, you know it was a book I was super excited for.

4. Making it personal. When you look at some of my other blogs, all you see is an abundance of reviews with a few weekly memes thrown here and there. Now, that's not too different from what I do here at Time Turning Reads, with one exception: on my other blogs, I could be anyone. I tried to write professionally and by doing that, I lost my own voice. Here, I don't reign my crazy in - I let it roam free. I feel that you guys have a certain idea of who I am based on the way I write and the nonsensical things I sometimes say, and I hope that it's an accurate representation of who I am. I think that makes the blog feel more me that simply another site in the world wide web.

5. Everyone is super nice and supports my hobby. This kind of goes with #1, but it's an important reason of why I keep blogging, so I think it deceives it's own point on the list. Sometimes I don't always know why I continue blogging and wonder what would happen if I just stopped. Other times I'm curious as to whether anyone even reads the blog (people who are genuinely interested in the things I have to say, I love you). But every once in a while a friend or a stranger complements an aspect of my blog or tells me they can see my love of books shining through my reviews, and it makes me smile. It makes me want to keep on doing what I now realize I love doing best: blog. I hate to sound needy, but hey, no one's perfect ;)

Speaking of no one being perfect, I bet you have a ton of suggestions on things I could do better on the blog, so let me get to the constructive criticism part of today.

What I Need To Work On

I'm going to be working on a few major things this next year as I try to make Time Turning Reads more reader-friendly and in general, just more awesome XD. Here they are:

• MORE GIVEAWAYS. Clearly I haven't been doing enough giveaways this year. It's not so much a problem of a lack of books so much as I'm not always sure which books you guys would like to have as giveaways. I should probably do polls or something to see which books you would prefer, but I'm not sure how many people would actually respond haha. Either way, there will definitely be more giveaways on the blog going forward.

• More discussion posts, and maybe even some Back in Time posts about what's been going on in my life. Most of what I do on this blog are reviews and memes such as TTT and WoW. I may have to bring back Stacking the Shelves this year, we'll see. I'm also eager to work on some discussion posts to, well, discuss books with you guys. Now, I see some bloggers churning these out every week, but unfortunately, I'm not that skilled. Brilliant thoughts/ideas rarely go through my head, so I will be forcing myself to think of some discussion topics, though hopefully they just come to me like bees do to honey. Hopefully. I'm also thinking of bringing back Back in Time posts so that you guys know what goes on in my life outside of the blog and reading - the only problem is that I don't have much of a life outside of these things...

• Try requesting some physical ARC's? This is the scariest thing ever, but I think I should try it during my second year of blogging (gosh, I love saying that). Now that I know for sure I won't be spontaneously leaving the blog and I've had a solid year of blogging experience, it might be a good time to start reaching out to publishers. It's just so life-affirming getting a physical advanced reading copy in your possession and knowing you're trusted to take care of it and review it and love it forever, you know what I mean?

• Participate in way more book tours. Book tours are always fun, but you can find them on other blogs more than you can on this one. I'll have to take part in many of those this next year, especially since they're a nice break from reviewing and add something else to the blog. If any of you have any blog tour tips for me, please tell me below in the comments!

• BEA 2016. Please. Though my first year on the blog has been great and I've met several authors through Twitter and such, I have yet to go to a bookish event, author signing, BEA, BookCon, etc. I'm hoping this will change next year. As many of you know, next year's BEA and BookCon take place in Chicago, which is relatively close to where I live. Also, thank goodness I'm a college student now, because school now ends early enough that I could go. I just have to get my dad on board and I may actually be able to go and meet you all. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I'm sure I'll find many more things to work on as the year goes on, but for now, these are the main aspects I want to improve on Time Turning Reads.

And Finally, The Giveaway

For those of you who skimmed or skipped everything before this and went straight to the giveaway, I can't blame you. I hope you'll like what comes next.

This is going to be a unique giveaway in that it's not actually one giveaway, but several in one. There will be several different book packs to win, and each set will have one winner. To make it fair, one person can only win up to one book pack. The first winner chosen will win pack #1, the second pack #2, and so on. Since there are four packs of books, by the end of this giveaway, we will have four different winners. Below are the different packs you can win.

1. Contemporary Love Pack (4 books)

The books in this pack are all a part of my favorite Contemporary Romance series by one of my favorite authors, Jennifer Probst. This is the Searching For series, and the books are below. Click on the covers for the Goodreads.

2. 2015 Favorites Pack (2 books)

True, this pack doesn't have too many books, but if you asked me what my two favorite books of 2015 were, they'd be ACOTAR and ADSOM. If you haven't heard of them, the books are below and you can click on the covers for the Goodreads.

3. Mental Health Pack (9 books)

Those of you who read a lot of YA novels probably noticed that this year has been a bit heavy in the mental illness sub-genre. Though I was unsure about the popularity of the genre at the beginning of the year, I've come to realize that these are actually some of the best books I've read. The mental health books in this pack are listed below - click on the covers for the Goodreads.

4. LGBT Reads Pack (5 books)

I haven't read a ton of these, but I have read one and it was adorable, so in this pack I'll be sharing some other popular LGBT books that have been hyped up around the blogosphere. As always, click on the covers for the Goodreads.

And that's the last of the packs! I'm hoping that at least one of these packs, if not all of them, catches your eye, hence the diverse nature of the packs. This giveaway will be going on for two months, so make sure you enter as many times as you want by then! I'll be picking winners and sharing them over Twitter, but I will also email the winners whether or not they follow Twitter. Good luck, everyone!

• The giveaway begins today, July 16th, and will end two months from now at midnight on September 16th.

The Most Important Part!!

So if you guys don't mind, it would be a HUGE help if when you're entering the giveaway, you could write whether you want the kindle formats of the books (.mobi) or the tablet formats of the books (.epub) next to your name, each time you enter. Just so you remember...

Thank you!

SBPT15 Stop #2 - Stephanie from Ohana Reads

The 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour is hosted by Amber and Jessica at The Book Bratz, and it's a fun tour where book bloggers collaborate with other book bloggers, become besties, and introduce one another on each of our blogs. The added benefit is if you've gotten bored of me, you get to meet some awesome people you may not have been introduced to before!

This week you're meeting:

Stephanie from Ohana Reads

I'd never heard of Stephanie or Ohana Reads before joining this blogger tour, but I'm so glad I did because I was missing out on a great blog and person. I still haven't got to know very much about her, so I figured we could get to know her together! As I mentioned, she runs a wonderful blog, and I thought I could ask her about how she started it and runs it in the hopes of learning a few things from her as well as about her. Let's hear what she has to say.

Me: What made you first decide that you wanted to start your very own blog?
Stephanie:  I first started blogging back in January 2014 because I wanted to practice my writing. I’m one of those people that can’t write anything down without constantly checking every few seconds to see if I made any mistakes. So I hoped that I’d loose that trait, or at least become less stressed when it comes to writing. Of course that hasn’t happened yet, but it’s still been one heck of a time running my blog.

Me: Now that you've been blogging for more than a year now, what would you say is the best part?
Stephanie: Honestly, the best part of blogging is probably having met so many new incredible people online. The blogger community is such so warm and welcome, I know that we have our moments but I’m still so glad to be apart of it! Free books from publishers are always a plus as well;)

Me: Who are some of your favorite bloggers? Why? (Please include their name and a link to their blog)
Stephanie: Every blogger I follow, I love to be honest. It’d be impossible to be able to list them all. But above all, I utterly adore Stephanie from Doodle’s Book Reviews, (http://doodlereviewsbooks.blogspot.com) and not because we share the same name. She was one of the first few people I got to know when I started blogging, we are constantly talking, Skyping and sending each other stuff in the mail:)

Me: How do you juggle your reading and reviewing schedule?
Stephanie: Most of the time I don’t have a specific date where I need to have my review books reviewed by, I only ever try to keep track of my ARCs. I attempt to read an ARC about a month before the release date then have the review posted a week before it’s release. Otherwise I read whichever book I feel like reading.

Me: Do you see yourself book blogging ten years from now?
Stephanie:  Most definitely not. I hope to have a career in Publishing in the next 10 years or so, either working as a publicist, a cover designer or an author. As much as I love my blog, it was never supposed to be a long term thing.

Isn't she incredible? It's always cool learning how long people plan on blogging. I'm just about to start my journey of becoming a doctor, so for me, book blogging is something I plan on doing forever - it's my retreat, of sorts. Hearing that Ohana Reads is just the stepping stone to something greater makes me really excited for her and more aware of the diversity of book bloggers everywhere. It's quite humbling, really.

Again, don't be afraid to check out Stephanie's blog and start a chat with her. She's really nice; I'm sure she'd enjoy talking to you, and you to her!

Stop #3 will be on the blog next Sunday at 10:00 am sharp. I'll be having another blogger over, and I'm sure you won't want to miss meeting her!
