Waiting on Wednesday (#7)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, and it features an upcoming release that we're crazy excited for and literally cannot wait to get our hands on.

This week's pick is:

Suddenly One Summer
by Julie James
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: June 2, 2015
Publisher: Jove
Pages: 304 pages

From the New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Wedding comes a novel about a man and a woman whose summer is about to get very, very steamy…

Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn't mean she's opposed to casual dating—just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister's case, she's as determined to win as ever—even if that means teaming up with Ford…

Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He's willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. He might not be looking to settle down, but there's no denying the scorching attraction between them. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for…

Why I'm Waiting...

I can't remember exactly when I first got into contemporary romance, but there are two authors that have remained my most absolute favorite contemporary romance writers to this day. Those two authors are Jennifer Probst and Julie James. At the moment, I'm actually reading Probst's latest novel, Searching For Beautiful, and how ironic, it's a beautiful book. Definitely take the time to check out the series, Searching For, if you haven't already - it's wonderful. Probst and James usually publish their books at the same time, and so reading Searching for Beautiful is really getting me in the mood for Suddenly One Summer. Unfortunately for me, I've been waiting for the book for about a year now, but on the bright side, THERE ARE ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE RELEASE DATE. Freak out with me, people. You know you want to.

While Probst's books involve romances between several emotionally unavailable people (yum!), James's romances are adorable, emotional whirlwinds that usually involve either a lawyer or a cop, and the occasional actor. Basically non-billionaire big-shots. You've gotta love 'em. If you haven't read one of her books yet, you're missing out. Her stories are breathtaking, and you literally cannot stop swooning. If you're a fan of romantic comedies, you need to add this author to your list, because her books are better.

A kind of specific reason I chose this book for today's WoW is because sometimes my blog is so overwhelmed by Young Adult novels that even I forget that's not all I blog about. I mean, I would have chosen this book, this week regardless, but it hit me while I was typing up this post that I'm not a one genre type of gal. This is just an extra reminder to both you and I that I do occasionally stray away from the world of Young Adult, as does Time Turning Reads ;D No but really, you want this book, guys.

What book are you waiting for?

Link me to your WoW posts! I want to check them out. (And I'm not just saying that - I'm using this week to catch up on my commenting!)
