Waiting on Wednesday (#4)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, and it features an upcoming release that we're crazy excited for and literally cannot wait to get our hands on.

This week's pick is:

The Shadow Cabinet
by Maureen Johnson
Series: Shades of London #3
Genre: Paranormal Romance, YA
Publication Date: March 5, 2015
Publisher: Hot Key Books
Pages: 352 pages

The thrilling third installment to the Edgar-nominated, bestselling series

At the end of Maureen Johnson’s New York Times bestselling novel, The Madness Underneath, Rory, Callum and Boo are reeling from the sudden and tragic death of their friend and squad leader, Stephen. The Shadow Cabinet picks up where readers left off, and now Rory is convinced there must be a way to bring Stephen back. Meanwhile, new dangers arise: Rory's classmate Charlotte is missing, and Jane and her nefarious organization are clearly planning something big—with Rory as their most valuable asset. Time is running out as the ghost squad struggles to protect London and Rory fights to bring Stephen back.

Why I'm Waiting...

Ever since I first picked up 'The Name of the Star', the first book in the series, I've been waiting for the next books like a drowning girl reaching for a floating log. I'm not even sure why, but this series is something I've always loved. One reason could be because it was my first book featuring Jack the Ripper (who is AWESOME by the way, if a bit creepy and murderous), but also because of Stephen, who I shipped with Rory from the very beginning. And then with what happened at the end of book two...well, this book can't be released fast enough! I really wish I didn't have to wait another year to find out what happens to Stephan, but it's not like I can bribe the author to give me an early copy. Right?

This series has sort of slipped underneath my radar. I remember some buzz for it when the first book came out and I remember being really interested! So good to hear how much you love it because it definitely gets me curious again. I think I could really get into it and I've always wanted to try something by Maureen Johnson.

Yay, I'm so glad it's got your interest again! It's a really wonderful series, and I hope you like it if you decide to try it!!
So Jack the Ripper is the one they're saving London from?

If I recall correctly, it's actually Jack the Ripper's ghost XD
I've only read the first one so far, (mainly because of the Jack the Ripper aspect),was a little disappointed, but still pretty good. :)

Yeah, I know it's not one of the best books ever or anything, but I just love it so much haha. And like I said, I don't even know why!
